PMVA Training

PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and aggression) training helps to reduce the risks of violence and aggression.

COURSE OVERVIEW

PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and aggression) training helps to reduce the risks of violence and aggression by developing staff knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effectively manage incidents from various groups, for example from patients or residents to staff, from Visitors to staff and even from Staff to Staff.

Our PMVA is suitable for Qualified nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers working in mental health settings.
Training of this kind is especially useful (and sometimes a pre-requisite) in Mental Health settings.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

All candidates are required to complete a Health Questionnaire before attending this course. If you have any medical issues that may impair your ability to participate in the practical sessions of this training, please contact us prior to booking the course to discuss.

CERTIFICATION

On completion delegates will learn to safely apply appropriate non-restrictive or (where necessary) restrictive physical interventions as alternatives to the primary non-escalation and secondary de-escalation strategies which we will help you to put in place. Delegates will receive an accredited certificate of attendance which is valid for 1 year.

1 day refresher / 3 day PMVA

Refresher 1 Day Course is aimed at those who already hold a full PMVA Certificate that is due to expire but is still in date. IF your full training certificate has already expired, we suggest that you look at taking our full 3 Day Course.
